Do you ever notice how children choose clothing that makes them happy. What ever pattern, colours and textures that make their little hearts sing they just put together without thinking twice. When did we lose that sheer joy of dressing in what makes us happy? Why as adults do we have so many “style rules”? Why can’t we wear white after Labour Day? Who said red and pink clash? Horizontal stripes are a big no no? Naturally all these rules can leave us feeling overwhelmed and finding a “safe style” and well…. Getting in a boring ol style rut. Luckily Long Tall Sally came up with this genius idea to give 6 mini stylists free rein to style 6 women who feel like they have lost their way with fashion. Want to see the results of this fantastic project… Just click right here to see the styling magic!
As most of you may know, I have a mini fashionista daughter named Gabriella. We were both beyond thrilled when LTS asked if we would like to take part in the #StyleHasNoRules challenge. In true dramatic form, my child literally fake fainted and fell of her chair…. So that was a yes, she was in!
Gabriella had full creative control over outfit choice, styling and taking my photos. We had a great time at Long Tall Sally Atrium on Bay location here in downtown Toronto (I honestly feel like the girls treat us like family) where Gabriella picked out her top choices for me to try.
Look at her go, I’m a proud Mamma. Being able to see how a child makes decisions on clothing without rules and the self doubt is so refreshing. I really urge all woman to take a day out with your daughter or a young member of your family and let them choose a look for you because #StyleHasNoRules!!!
The final reveal of my Long Tall Sally ensemble is….
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this outfit. It’s so sophisticated and elegant but very comfortable. I’m so proud of my daughter and grateful for this experience.
